More about the job

Frag Doll team members are part-time employees within Ubisoft’s Marketing and Promotions department based out of San Francisco (applicants can be from anywhere in the US; no relocation is necessary). The job requires anywhere from 5 to 30 hours per week depending on the time of year (yearly average of around 20 hours per week).

The work done from home is accompanied by regular travel. Late summer and fall (June – November) is our busy season. We average 2 events per month during this time, and sometimes do as many as 5 events per month. Events can be anything from industry conferences, trade shows, and consumer events. They typically vary from 1-4 days long and can take place anywhere in the United States and Canada. Late Winter and early spring (January – April) mark our slow season when we have fewer hours to work at home and fewer travel events.

Frag Dolls meet people from all over the game industry, gaming community, and press media. We get to see all parts of the country and work in numerous industry capacities within marketing, PR, and game testing. This is a great position for any dedicated female gamer looking to get into professional gaming and/or a career in the game industry.

Responsibilities include:
• playing at least one game genre at a competitive level
• representing Ubisoft games at industry and consumer events; includes demoing, playing against challengers, running promotions activities, and fulfilling interview requests with press
• representing women in gaming and gamers in general at panels and conference events
• maintaining and growing Frag Doll community through online forums and Xbox Live gaming events
• writing weekly blogs
• creating monthly video blogs
• conducting on-camera interviews with other gamers, game industry representatives, and entertainment personalities
• planning and executing promotional campaigns for Ubisoft brands
• providing organized feedback about game builds to Ubisoft’s developers

Strong candidates will have:
• passion for games and gamer geek culture
• competitive gaming skills (preferably on a multiplayer Ubisoft title, and ideally with competitive tournament experience)
• positive social attitude (ideally with experience as a member or leader of online communities)
• comfort and poise speaking in front of a camera and/or audience (ideally with some experience being on camera)
• engaging speaking presence; ability to articulate personal history and experience as a female gamer (ideally with some experience speaking or performing)
• excellent writing skills (ideally with some experience writing blogs, game reviews, or other published words)
• creative spirit for producing entertaining blogs, video blogs, and marketing ideas
• understanding of professional decorum and priorities (ideally with experience working in a professional environment)
• schedule flexibility to accommodate busy season hours and travel, as well as the lesser hours during slow season
• strong organizational skills
• self-starter’s motivation and initiative

If you have questions about the application, please email us before the deadline. In the meantime, please feel free to come by our forums to say hi and get get to know our community better.

Good luck to all applicants!
