Super Mario Marathon 2 Happening Now!

Mario Marathon

Check this out and it is for a good cause!

[blockquote] Last year, a group of Super Mario Brother’s fanatics got together and played variations of the video game 55 hours straight for charity, raising better than $11,000 in total. This year, Mario Marathon is back, and once again the gamers are broadcasting live on Ustreamustream, intent to complete all of the games by the end of the weekend (or however long it takes).

The event seems to be off to a good start. There are currently almost 1,000 people watching the group sit on a couch and play their way through the games, while Ustream’s integration withTwitterTwitter has lots of users chatting and using the hashtag #mariomarathon. And so far, more than $4,000 has been raised for Child’s Play, a charity that gives games, toys, and books to sick children.

Mario Marathon has some other cool tie-ins to keep followers interested. Fans can submit artwork for inclusion on their site, and both donors and those using the #mariomarathon hashtag will be eligible for prizes that will be held throughout the marathon. You can also keep up with the gamer’s progress in completing the challenge on their homepage. [/blockquote]

Michael Jackson was a huge Mortal Kombat fan

MJ MK

After the passing of Michael Jackson, we found a lot more about how much he loved video games.

[blockquote]

"I watch cartoons. I love cartoons. I play video games. Sometimes I read."

"You mean you read books?"

"Yeah. I love to read short stories and everything."

"Any in particular?"

"Somerset Maugham," he said quickly, and then, pausing at each name: "Whitman. Hemingway. Twain."

"What about those video games?"

"I love X-ManPinballJurassic Park. The martial arts ones – Mortal Kombat."

"I played some of the video games at Neverland," I said. "There was an amazing one called Beast Buster."

"Oh, yeah, that's great. I pick each game. That one's maybe too violent, though. I usually take some with me on tour."

"How do you manage that? The video game machines are pretty big, aren't they?"

"Oh, we travel with two cargo planes." [/blockquote]

Shotgun

BANG! That is what one kid heard after his brother accidently shot him after an arguement over video games. The thing is the gamers arguement could have been over anything. Women, drugs, their pet dog or their favorite flavor of bubblegum. Due to it being over video games this will once again blow up in the news as why video games cause violence.

Maybe they should look into why a child had easy access to a shotgun in the first place?

Douche

This kid is really smart. He is also a really big douche. Why you might ask? Because he thinks video games are a waste of time. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but his reasoning is the biggest douche response anyone could give. It is like The response someone would give during a Miss USA contest.

[blockquote]Not on the agenda: playing video games.

"I feel it's a waste of time playing video games because it's not helping humanity in any way," says the 11-year-old, who wants to use his knowledge to change the world.[/blockquote]
